4 Mile Tempo
Worked 10-2, then practice, then work 6-8. After work went to
the parents place to do some laundry and while that was going decided to try my
luck at a tempo run on the roads.
Ran 1.26mi warmup nice and easy, then jumped right into the tempo - didn't
really have a plan for this, so was hoping to hit around maybe 5:40s? I never
looked at splits, so I guess my only plan that I did have was to run on feel and
not look at the watch. Everything went fine till that final mile, then I paid
the price for not eating much today for breakfast and lunch and working all day
long...just ran out of gas. Otherwise I felt pretty good and just rolled along.
I ran another 1.61mi easy for my cool down.
5:37, 5:35, 5:32, 5:52 splits
Not bad, but not the best either. I was happy with the first 3 miles...that 4th
one was a blemish, but I did avg right where I had hoped at least so that is
good, on a pretty hilly course too. :)
