February 21st - 4 miles @ 5:20-5:30 pace

        21:57 @ 5:29avg

First threshold/workout since December 7th 2005!  Tim has me running two of these a week for the next two weeks, then I will do one and a track workout for the next two weeks, and then after that just one threshold and race.  The design of these workouts are to help aid me in getting a fast time for the half marathon in Sedalia on March 25th - I am aiming to run a sub 73min to get a better qualifying time for the Hospital Hill half marathon in early June.  This threshold I was going to start off around a 5:35-5:40 pace and then pick it up from there but from the start this run felt much easier and relaxed going on pace.  I felt stronger in this compared to those I ran in the fall.  During the 3rd mile I had an obstacle to deal with as a truck was blocking lanes 1-4 on the curve causing me to swing way out to get around (this happened during the 2nd and 3rd laps of that mile only) - people were putting out the pole vault mats.  Ran this early morning at 8am - I am not a fan of running workouts this early, but my work schedule was 12-9pm so I had to.  I was pleased with the time, I wasn't sure how it would go over.  Ran 2 mile progressive warmup, 6.15 mile cool down (Lix loop).
